Here are just a few of the attractions that Cornwall has to offer - there are many many more....
The Eden Project is probably Cornwall's most famous attraction. Located in a disused clay mine near St Austell. Eden has also become a venue for concerts. Photo by kind permission of Adrian Warren of Last Refuge photo library
Also near to St Austell at Mevagissy are The Lost Gardens of Heligan, which is the largest garden restoration in Britain, which includes a massive 57 acres of planted garden, 27 acres of jungle valley garden, combined with a wonderful collection of walled gardens, grotto, Italian garden etc. If shopping is your therapy, then Plymouth and Truro are the main towns. Plymouth is 40 minutes by car, but you can also go there by train or bus. Truro is a pretty city, best way to get there is either by car or train, it's about an hourdrive from Looe. Walking? We keep a booklet in the hotel listing walks around the Looe area, The coastal path is the most popular. This runs the entire coast of Cornwall, nearly 300 miles. A day trip walking either way to Polperro or Seaton is a must.
Also near to Liskeard are Carnglaze Caverns which has an underground rum store. The caversn are also popular as a music event, due to their amazing accoustic properties |
